Costello was in the spotlight at the beginning of the evening again, when the movie Broken Song (Ireland) by Claire Dix was screened, a beautiful portrait about Irish Rap.

This weekend JALANAN screened at the unique and delightful NORIENT Musik Film Festival in Bern, Switzerland. It’s a festival that emphasizes filmmaker participation, audience engagement, professional camaraderie, the meeting of cinema and music, experimental media, a super relaxed vibe and a really fun time. Though small in size, NORIENT is huge in heart, and was one of the most enjoyable festivals I’ve attended.

«The Norient Music Film Festival has showed me how very different people can be. Indifferent sometimes, but also wonderful; everyone’s just so different and yet there‘s something linking us all, something that talks to all of us. When it comes to music, I‘m just an average kind of person. I really like my iPod, but I spend a lot of train rides without it. And still I‘m touched by the music all those people I‘ve seen on the screen this weekend make!»
